Perfectly seared scallops glazed with rich miso butter, served with nutty sesame asparagus.
Ingredients:
- 10 large sea scallops
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 tbsp white miso paste
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1/2 tsp sesame oil
- 1 clove garlic (minced)
- 1/2 tsp ginger (grated)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Salt & black pepper to taste
For the Sesame Asparagus:
- 1 bunch asparagus (trimmed)
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds
Instructions:
- Prepare Miso Butter: Melt butter and mix with miso, soy sauce, honey, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger.
- Sear Scallops: Heat olive oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Season scallops with salt and pepper, then sear for 2 minutes per side until golden.
- Glaze: Add miso butter to the pan, spooning it over the scallops as they cook for 1 more minute.
- Cook Asparagus: In another pan, heat sesame oil and sauté asparagus for 3-4 minutes. Drizzle with soy sauce and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
- Serve: Plate the scallops with sesame asparagus, drizzling extra miso butter over the top.
